Chlorophyll A&B Red Excitation Sensor
about this product:
Chlorophyll (A and B) sensors measure algal abundance in water. Although the Blue Excitation sensor is the most commonly used, an alternative option is the Red Excitation sensor, which is designed for use in high DOM (dissolved organic material) environments. Powered by Turner Designs, all X2change™ Chlorophyll (A and B) sensors have a range of 0-500μg/L, accuracy of ±0.99 R² linearity, resolution of 0.01 μg/L and a response time of 200 ms. Please contact the AML Sales team if you are unsure which option is best for your project.
Key Benefits:
- Zero Down Time – With X2•Series sensors, recalibrated sensors are sent to the instrument instead of sending the instrument to the recalibration centre.
- Reduce Logistical Costs – With X2•Series small sensor heads are shipped instead of heavy instruments.
- Increased Flexibility – Field-swappable sensor heads enable any organization – big or small – to become a virtual recalibration centre by stocking spare calibrated sensor heads.
- One Instrument, Multiple Applications – the ability to change sensor type on any instrument to suit specific application requirements. This means instrument duplicates (identical instruments dedicated to different pressure ranges, separate instrument for Turbidity, pH, Chlorophyll, etc) become a thing of the past.
- Improved absolute pressure accuracy – You may choose the best full scale pressure range to suit your deployment depth.
X2change™ sensor heads are used exclusively with X2•Series / Orange Line instrumentation. Total flexibility of instrument model, sensor type, and sensor range ensures that the right instrument is always available. Please refer to the X2•Series brochure for a list of instruments, applications, and specifications.

Scott McLean - DIRECTOR OF Ocean Networks Canada
"With the incredible results of the AML CTD and UV anti-biofouling system, we are very pleased to be deploying both across coastal BC as part of the Smart Oceans™ program. After 15 months and still going, at our worst bio-fouling site, the sensors remain clean and operating fine. We are all absolutely amazed. AML Oceanographic has really made a revolutionary advance in anti-biofouling technology with this new product."

"AML is an excellent company to work with. The expertise and knowledge of the staff and their willingness to assist go far beyond my expectations. The work I am trying to implement is hindered by limited funding, and AML has shown compassion and understanding of our long-term goals to build a system that can add on sensors, withstand harsh conditions, and accommodate introductory multi-users. I highly recommend this company for the quality equipment and long-term staff relations."
Our field-swappable sensor heads increase instrument flexibility; any sensor head can be installed on any instrument, thus ensuring a 'fit to purpose' instrument is always available.
