Applied Microsystems Announces Asian Calibration Facility
Applied Microsystems Ltd. (AML) is pleased to announce the opening of a state-of-the-art sound velocity calibration facility in Singapore. Sea and Land Technologies (SALT) – AML’s sales and service partner for the Asia Pacific Region – will host the new calibration facility. Immediate capabilities include:
- time-of-flight sound velocity, with accuracies of ± 0.05 m/s;
- temperature, to accuracies of ± 0.005 °C; and
- pressure, with temperature compensation, to accuracies of ± 0.05%FS
“With SALT’s new calibration facility, we will dramatically reduce the down-time of our instruments in Asia”, says Robert Haydock, President of Applied Microsystems. “Until recently, all of our instruments were shipped from Asia back to Canada for recalibration. Even with priority service from international couriers, our customers were looking at a minimum of a 2 to 3 week turn around.”
Zach Thomas, CEO of SALT, concludes: “The ability to do local calibrations in South East Asia creates a tremendous benefit. What used to take upwards of 3 weeks can now be done in just days.”
