OSIL (Ocean Scientific International Ltd) is experiencing an increase in worldwide sales of the MiniBAT Tow Vehicle. Most recently, OSIL has sold a high-end systems consisting of a MiniBAT FC60 and an Applied Microsystems Micro CTD to Ifremer, France, who will be using the system in their research work. The high speed Applied Microsystems Micro CTD perfectly complements the undulating nature of the MiniBAT, ensuring there is no lag time in the data and providing a top class research tool.
OSIL also provided CSIC, Spain with a MiniBAT for their studies on harmful algal blooms (HABs) in the Ria de Vito, Spain. The MiniBAT was integrated with an Applied Microsystems Micro CTD, a Wet Labs Wetstar and an OBS3, creating a system that could collect large data sets at a much quicker rate than traditional methods. In this study the MiniBAT was used to monitor conductivity, temperature, pressure, fluorescence, and turbidity. |

The Micro CTD is a high accuracy, small size instrument for measuring conductivity, temperature and pressure. No pump is required. High speed sampling rates and rapid response times guarantee high resolution data even in high speed applications.
The Micro CTD’s 25 Hz sampling guarantees high resolution data even in high speed applications. Rapid, matched sensor response times eliminate the need for post processing of data. No pumps are required, making the Micro CTD a natural choice for systems on tight power budgets.
