Should I prepare my own quote?
Only if you want to! www.AMLoceanographic.com has been designed to allow customers to get immediate pricing on our products and services, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Our product catalogue can be browsed in all sorts of ways, including by instrument name, by product model, by parameter of interest, or by application intent.
Everyone can view product specifications OR configure their own version of the instrument in question, essentially choosing the sensor, housing, communication, accessory and service options of interest. Similarly, everyone can print off a specification package which includes tech specs and brochure.
Registered users - and registration is free - can prepare a detailed quote, one which includes pricing in your currency. In essence, you are able to generate a complete yet customized quote package in real-time.

Only if you wish to. You can generate a technical package on any one of our instruments without registering. If, however, you wish to obtain a firm price quote, then you will need to register.
Before registering, first go ahead and configure your instrument of choice. Once you've built your configuration, click on the Save Quote button at the top of the screen or click on the login link in the top right hand corner. If you are a repeat user, the system - developed by a company called Websource CPQ - will ask for your login, your password, and your domain. The domain is always AppliedMicro.
If you haven't registered yet, click on the red register link. The system will ask you for your name, an email address, and a few other bits of information. Once you've submitted a request to register, we will authorize your access in less than 24 hours, and often immediately. |

What does the customize button do?
The Customize button allows you to configure an instrument to meet your specific application requirements. In the photo below, the user is choosing which sound velocity sensor - and which calibration ranges - are appropriate for his or her requirement. You'll be asked whether or not you wish to upgrade sensors and calibration ranges, whether additional 3rd party sensors are of interest, housing and connector preferences, what communications protocols you wish to use, and which accessories and services are important.

Once you've configured your instrument, click the Add to Cart button on the left hand side of the screen to generate a technical package (including instrument brochure and tech spec document; available for non-registered users) OR a detailed quote document (including instrument brochure, tech spec document, and price quote; available for registered users). |

What do the Add to Quote and Add to Cart buttons do?
These buttons - Add to Quote and Add to Cart - allow you to take any product of interest and add it to a specific quotation. Creating a quotation is like selecting items in a shopping cart. You can specify what you want and how many of each item. Once you've finished your quotation, you have a number of options for what to do with that quotation (see below).
What are my options in the shopping cart?
Now that you've chosen your products of interest, you are able to take any one of a number of actions. You may:
- Add Item: Allows you to add another item to this quote from our catalogue
- Save Quote: Allows you to save your quote for future use
- Generate Quote: Allows you to generate a documentation package including quoted items, brochures and technical specifications

Can I purchase products on-line?
Wouldn't it be nice? But no, you can't yet purchase instruments, services, or accessories on-line. Depending upon user demand, we may include this feature in our Product Catalogue in the future... |
What does the view details link do?
Clicking the View Details link on any product provides a quick summary of what that specific instrument is all about. For example, you'll see a listing of key features and benefits, sensor and mechanical specifications, and available options and upgrades.

Can I change the way I view the catalogue?
Absolutely.! On the right hand side of most screens in our product catalogue, you will find a floating tool bar that rests just above the Add to Quote and Compare buttons. This tool bar allows you to specify how you wish to view the product options in that view. For example, you can choose:
- a Windows Explorer style hierarchical tree view
- a tabular, browsable, photo-oriented view; or
- a text based view, which can be easily filtered by product name, product code, or product category.

SV•Xchange™

Launched at OI 2008, SV•Xchange™ is the industry’s only field-swappable sound velocity sensor. Imagine the possibilities! Any SV•Xchange™ sensor can be connected to any Xchange enabled instrument - when you want, where you want - without compromising calibration accuracy.
Field-swappability eliminates the need for entire instruments to be returned for recalibration. Reduced instrument downtime adds convenience and flexibility while the elimination of unnecessary shipping costs reduces the cost-of-ownership. In addition to being field-swappable, SV·Xchange™ is more accurate and more precise than existing sound velocity sensors.
